The Starcastle Mission is to:

 1. Preserve and improve the majestic Shire breed, for the use and enjoyment of future generations, at a quality and in a form that is worthy of preserving.

 2. Continually strive to improve the Starcastle herd and solidify genetic predispositions for:

• Good feet.

• High quality conformation.

• Correct athletic movement.

• Good disposition and ease of training.

• Heartiness & vigour.

• Easy keeping with efficient use of feed.

• Traditionally powerful well-balanced body and frame.

• Good solid colors.

 

 3. Produce high quality foals to strengthen the Shire gene pool and assist other breeders.

 

 4. Encourage and enable new breeders.

 

 5. Give back to the breed, by sharing knowledge and experience gained over four decades of Shire breeding.

 

 6. Inspire new people to enjoy the Shire breeding experience and pull together in a positive way, as a community of       Shire   breeders, in cooperative harmony, while keeping if fun for all.

 

 7. Promote genetic diversity and requisite variety within the Shire gene pool, as is necessary for breed survival.

 

 8. Enjoy every moment with our Shires and positive relationships with our fellow Shire breeders and enthusiasts.

 

 9. Share our magnificent Shire breed with the pubic for viewing, awareness and their enjoyment.
